I will be making crochet games for the children over the next few months. I decided to start with a on old favourite; a tic tac toe game. When your children play tic tac toe they engage in an off screen activity that can challenge them mentally.
Use this game for you children if you would like to:
- Teach them good sportsmanship.
- Help your children apply their logic as well as develop strategy at an early age.
- Prepare them for more complex games because they have to think of multiple things at one time
- Help develop coordination, fine motor skills and visual skills.
- Assist them in learning how to follow rules as well as take turns.

I decided to convert this game into a pouch for a few reasons.
- With the holidays just around the corner families may be planning a trip of some sort. It is always helpful to have something to occupy your children on these car rides or plane rides.
- The pieces can fit very neatly into the pouch which hopefully will prevent them from getting lost ( Hopefully 🙂 )
- The pouch is also large enough for other small items.
Acrylic yarn was my yarn of choice for this tic tac toe game .
The game is therefore
- More durable
- Less sensitive to washers as well as dryers
- Lightweight, which impacts on the ease of carrying the pouch
- Free from scales. This means it is suitable for children that suffer with allergies.
